My Classes #4- Computer
This fall semester I am taking a computer class, because it is required for my major. I had two options for which computer class I wanted to take, and I chose to take the harder one of the two. I have always been into computers my whole life. When I was young, I would always play learning games on the computer for countless hours. I also played games like Oregon Trail, Sims, and Barbie games. My parents would always get mad at me because I wanted to be on the computer all the time. I loved making cards for people on the computer, or making signs to hang up for the church or school. I do not know why, but those kinds of things always intrigued me. Due to my passion to be on the computer all the time as a little girl, my computer classes through elementary school and high school were a breeze. I always did well with microtype, because I had a head start. I still see people today who try to type with two fingers and it makes me giggle, because it would be so much easier for them if they just would have learned the right way at a young age. Now that I am in college, I have to take this computer class. In the class we have already went through Word and Powerpoint, and we are now working on Excel. This class may be one of my easiest classes, but it is also very boring. It is an easy A, but it is just frustrating that I have to sit through all the classes and do all the work when I really am not learning anything. Also, I don't understand why this class is required for my major. All I want to do is clean people's teeth. I understand some dentist offices have their workers work on the computer for scheduling, but I do not think a whole class is needed for that. Oh well, I guess these classes can't hurt you. I will just keep telling myself. The semester is almost over as well which really helps.

I think this is funny because i thought the same things when I was in my computer classes in high school. I was always good with computers too. Im middle school we had to take a computer class both 7th and 8th grade year, then it was required to take all 4 years of high school. I would always fly by with all of my assignments and I would always be two weeks ahead. I actually took my exams two weeks early because I was so much further along than everyone else. The comment about the people who type with two fingers made me laugh because that is how both of my parents type and I laugh at them all the time. They just don't understand how much easier it is to type with all of your fingers instead of two. I also think it is funny that I used to play the exact same computer games as you did when I was younger. Me and my brother would always fight over Sims. We would play that game for hours and when one of us wasn't playing, we were watching the other just to make sure they didn't get more time than us. I use to play a lot of Barbie games too. I use to play some Animal rescue one. Oregon Trail was by far my favorite computer game to play. In the 5th and 6th grade playing Oregon Trail was a reward at the end of the week if we were all good and did all of our homework. That was the best game ever, I actually just found it as a game on my phone the other day and I played it. Playing it on my phone just wasn't the same as playing it on the computer. I honestly think playing games on the computer as a kid actually helped me be good on the computers. You have to navigate to places that you have never had to before and you learn how to use the computer. I think it is crazy how we had the exact same way at becoming good with computers and that we both think college computer classes are unnecessary.
